IMPLEMENTASI KEBIJAKAN SERTIFIKASI HALAL DI INDONESIA

The high level of domestic consumer demand for a legal halal guarantee
system, and the spread of global halal trends prompted the issuance of
Law no. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee which was
further strengthened by the issuance of Government Regulation no. 31
of 2019 concerning Implementing Regulations of Law No. 33 of 2014
concerning Guaranteed Halal Products and followed by the enactment
of the Minister of Religion Regulation No. 26 of 2019 concerning the
Implementation of JPH. These policies mandate that halal certification
is an obligation. The control system was initially carried out by LPPOM
MUI and is currently being transferred to the Ministry of Religion
through the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH). This study used
a qualitative method, where the data obtained came from open
interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results of this
study indicate that the establishment of the policy underscores the
crucial importance of managing Halal Certification in Indonesia. The
problem of overlapping authority can be overcome by the presence of
Law no. 33 of 2014, so it is hoped that there will be no more polemics
regarding the governance of Halal Certification in Indonesia
